An all-party meeting of the parties represented in the Provincial Assembly is being held at 1:00pm tomorrow with the aim of forging consensus on various topics, including oath-taking.

Madhes Provincial Assembly Secretariat has called a meeting to reach all-party consensus on various topics, including the swearing-in of newly-elected Provincial Assembly members.

Ranjit Kumar Yadav, Madhes Province Assembly Secretariat secretary, said 10 parties representing in the PA will be participating in the all-party meeting.

"The meeting is taking place in coordination with the parties. We will then prepare for the swearing-in and the PA meeting."

Article 179 of the Constitution of Nepal stipulates that members of the PA should take oath of office and secrecy as per the law before taking part in the Province Assembly meeting for the first time.

Similarly, Article 183 (1) of the constitution has the provision that the province chief shall call the meeting of the PA within 20 days of the announcement of the final results of the PA election results.
