Madhesi alliance disrupts NC’s solidarity rally in Birgunj
Birgunj, November 28
Federal Inclusive Madhesi Alliance on Saturday disrupted a rally staged by Nepali Congress in support of the ongoing Madhes agitation in Birgunj.
Taking strong exception to the rally being held under a party flag and banner, the alliance leaders burnt the flags and cast doubts on the motive behind the rally.
“At a time when Madhesi parties are staging protests carrying black flags, why do they have to stage a rally under a party’s banner ? It shows their support is fake and is motivated by the desire to thwart the agitation,” argued Rajeshman Singh, a leader of the alliance.
“If they really want to fight for the cause of Madhes, I ask them to dare do so without carrying their party banners,” he said.
Meanwhile, another alliance leader Raj Kumar Yadav warned against any attempts to infiltrate into the ongoing agitation. “We’ve only burnt their flags this time around. I warn them against making attempts to infiltrate into our agitation,” he said.
After disrupting the NC rally, the alliance leaders made a round of Birgunj by chanting slogans against the major parties’ attempts to infiltrate into the Madhes agitation.
Meanwhile, United Democratic Madheshi Front too has voiced its concerns over attempts of the Nepali Congress to infiltrate into its agitation in the name of support.
