CHITWAN: The Maghe Sankranti Fair in Chitwan began with the installation of a bamboo pole as lingo at the confluence of Trishuli and Kaligandaki rivers in Devghatdham, a popular pilgrimage site for Hindus.

Harihar Sanyas Ashram Pithadish 1008 Swami Gyananda Saraswoti inaugurated the fair by performing puja and hoisting the lingo.

To manage the fair , a 125-member Maghe Sankranti Fair Management Main Committee under the coordination of Shailendra Kumar Piya ws formed.
