Mahato advises Yadav to quit government
Rajbiraj, November 24
Presidium Coordinator Rajendra Mahato of Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal today advised Upendra Yadav, chairman of Samajwadi Party-Nepal, to resign from the government and form an alternative force.
Addressing a by-election mass meet organised at Chhinamasta Rural Municipality in Saptari today, Mahato said his party was preparing to rise as an alternative force against the Nepali Congress and the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP). He added his party was ready to unify with the SP-N if Yadav agreed to join them.
“Yadav’s portfolio was reshuffled in the Cabinet without any discussion,” he said.
Mahato said SP-N feared launching protest for genuine reason, while his party was preparing to emerge as the alternative force by fighting for the cause of the people.
“The protest is necessary to address the demands of Madhesi and other minority groups,” he said. He added that the government was not in favour of providing rights to Madhesi, backward and marginalised communities, among others.
“We will protest until the people get their rights through amendment of the constitution,” he said. Madhesi, backward and marginalised communities would get their rights if new political parties won the by-election, according to Mahato.
