Mahato warns of uprising

Bara, January 3:

Rajendra Mahato, president of the Nepal Sadbhawana Party, said the number of the Madhes Rakshya Bahini militias would reach 40,000 in the near future.

Addressing a training programme of the Rakshya Bahini in Kalaiya yesterday, he said they would start a revolution from January 19 to demand 50 per cent rights for the Madhes.

Speaking at Birgunj, Mahato warned that the Constituent Assembly election would not be successful until the demands of the Madhesis were not addressed. He said they would not stop agitating until their demand for a federal autonomous state was looked into.

He asked the Pahadeys living in the Tarai to support their demonstration and said the Madhes Rakshya Bahini militias have been trained so that no Pahadeys would be displaced from the Tarai.

“If the Pahadi communities support us, this regional and racial conflict would come to an end,” he said.
