KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 2

Traffic on the Malekhu-Mugling section of the Prithvi Highway will remain completely suspended for three hours on Monday as workers install the main girder of an overhead pedestrian bridge at Mazhimtar.

According to the western section of the Nagdhunga-Mugling Road Project, all vehicle movement along the road section will be halted from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm to allow the bridge installation to be carried out safely.

Project officials said the temporary closure is necessary to position the pedestrian bridge girder and ensure the safety of both workers and road users during the operation.

Drivers and passengers travelling along one of Nepal's busiest highways have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly and expect delays. The project team has also urged motorists to follow traffic instructions and maintain lane discipline before and after the closure period.

Officials apologised for the inconvenience and said the temporary disruption was necessary for the completion of infrastructure works designed to improve pedestrian safety along the highway.
