BHOJPUR: Police have arrested a man from Bhojpur Municipality for raping a 15-year-old girl.

The arrestee is identified as 25-year-old Madan Kumar Rai of Helaucha in Bhojpur Municipality.

According to police, Rai assaulted the victim and raped her while she was out repairing pipes at a water source near her house on September 18.

Following the incident, the victim in a police complaint stated that Rai thrashed her, took her to a nearby field, covered her mouth and raped her.

An investigation into the case is under way, District Police Office, Bhojpur informed.
