RUKUM: A man has been arrested on the charge of murdering his wife.

The suspect has been identified as Chhabi Lal Budha (24) of Bijayaswari-9.

Chhabi Lal reportedly hacked his 19-year-old wife Balika Gharti to death on July 6, 22 days after she had given birth to a child, the Area Police Office, Chaurjahari informed.

Gharti, who sustained severe injuries on her tongue and various parts of the body, died on the way to a hospital.

Chabi Lal, who was absconding after the incident, was arrested three days later.
