Police arrested six people, including the main suspect, after a fatal knife attack at a hotel in Jitpur Simara, Bara.

BARA, SEPTEMBER 20

A 35-year-old man died after being stabbed at a hotel in Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City-2 of Bara on Saturday evening.

Police identified the deceased as Sher Bahadur Khadka, a resident of Jitpur Simara-2. According to police, 22-year-old Ayush Rai of Jitpur Simara-16 allegedly attacked Khadka with a knife at Samjhana Staff Hotel at around 5:30pm.

Khadka sustained a serious injury to his neck. A police team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Dayakrishna Bhatt from the Area Police Office, Simara, along with a technical SOCO team, reached the scene after being informed of the incident.

Khadka was taken to Simara Nagar Hospital for treatment and was later referred to Nepal Mediciti Vayodha Hospital in Birgunj. Doctors declared him dead at around 6:40pm while undergoing treatment. His body has been kept at the hospital, police said.

Rai, who had fled the scene following the attack, was arrested at around 10pm from a paddy field in Mahendranagar, Jitpur Simara-16, where he was allegedly hiding. A police team deployed under the command of Bara District Police Office Superintendent of Police Narendra Kunwar arrested him.

Police also detained five other people suspected of involvement in the incident.

All six detainees are being investigated, police said.
