Man dies in police detention in Bardiya
KATHMANDU: A man from Banke district reportedly died of high blood pressure and other health issues in police detention on Thursday.
30-year-old Ram Manohar Yadav of Banke district was arrested on charge of rebellion during a programme attended by Minister for Health and Population Upendra Yadav in Gulariya Municipality, Bardiya district, on August 23. He was arrested for showing black flag in the programme.
According to Police Constable Himraj Bhandari at Bardiya District Police Office, 30-year-old Ram Manohar Yadav died while being sent to a health institution in Kathmandu, four days before.
He said, Yadav had continuously vomitted before left part of his body paralysed. He was immediately sent to District Hospital, Bardiya from where he was referred to Bheri Zonal Hospital-Nepalgunj and to a health institution in Kathmandu. He breathed his last on the way to Kathmandu, the police said.
Meanwhile, police have carried on the investigation with three others detained along with Yadav.
