Man freed from jail, dies mysteriously

The death of a man has left his family in the lurch in Tanahun.
Balsingh Rana, 30, of Ghiring Rural Municipality, Tanahun, was working in India. Unfortunately, he died mysteriously on his way to home from India in Damauli five days ago. His death has left his family in grief and distress.
Police had taken Rana from Binay Hotel in Damauli on the charge of making noise on December 6. Rana was released from police custody after paying Rs 1,000 in fine to Tanahun DAO the next day.
Police said that Rana had signed a document for receiving baggage, but had fled without receiving it.
Rana, who went missing on December 7, was found dead in Kakera that lies between the Seti and Madi rivers on December 12.
Rana’s wife Bimaya Rana said that her husband’s death before he reached the home was mysterious.
“My family has been left in a lurch with my husband’s demise,” she said.
Bimaya has a son named Kumar, aged 11, and a daughter Sapana, aged 9. The deceased’s brother had filed a case with the police seeking investigation into Balsingh’s death on December 13.
The deceased’s family members accused the police of freeing Balsingh in the absence of family members. They have demanded an investigation.
