RUKUM: Police arrested a man who allegedly killed his own friend under the influence of alcohol in Chaurjahari of Rukum district on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Akal Bahadur Khadka (45) and the suspect Nirmal Sarki.

Sarki reportedly attacked Khadka with an axe and a shovel over a minor dispute while the duo were drinking together in former's house, according Inspector Thamman Bahadur Rajali at the District Police Office.

Locals claimed that Sarki's wife Kamala Sarki was also involved in the fatal attack.

The body has been sent to the District Hospital in Salle for postmortem.

Meanwhile, police have detained the Sarki couple for further investigation into the case.
