Police arrested a youth on the charge of attempting to murder his wife today.

Roshan Kumar Gupta, 24 of Ghadiarwa in Birgunj Sub-metropolitan City-10 was arrested.

Police said Gupta had attempted to murder his second wife Manu Chaudhary, 22, with a knife. Gupta had taken his wife to Bhiswa danda for a visit today where he assaulted his wife with the knife on her neck after a dispute broke out between them. SP Somendra Singh Rathaur said police personnel from Bhiswa Police Post had rescued Chaudhary as they heard her yelling and screaming after Gupta assaulted her physically.

Police have arrested Gupta from his hideout in the nearby forest. Critically injured Chaudhary was sent to National Medical Hospital after she could not be treated at Narayani Hospital.
