BIRATNAGAR: A man was killed and another injured when a car was hit by a lorry in Budhiganga Rural Municipality of Morang district on Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as the car driver Prajjwal Dahal (25), permanent resident of Duhabi Municipality-4 in Sunsari district, and the injured as Bikash Bhandari (26) of Duhabi-5.

The accident occurred when the lorry with Indian registration number (NL-01-D-2369) collided head on with the car (Ba 10 Cha 8217), police said.

Injured Bhandari is currently receiving treatment at Nobel Hospital in Biratnagar, according to police.

A search has been launched for the absconding driver of the lorry.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
