JHAPA: A man was killed whereas his wife was injured in a road accident in Kankai Municipality-1 along the East-West Highway in Jhapa district on Saturday.

According to the Traffic Police Office, Jhapa, the accident took place when a bus (Na 7 Kha 389) hit an e-rickshaw (Me A Ha 19). The deceased is the rickshaw driver Laxman Magar (62) of Kankai Municipality-8.

Laxman's wife Indira Magar (55) was injured in the accident and is undergoing treatment at the Birtamod-based B&C Hospital, police added.

Police have impounded both the vehicles in this connection.
