Man knifed to death in Kanchanpur
KANCHANPUR: A person, who was attacked with a knife, died last night in Kanchanpur district.
The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Raju Bohara of Dehimandau, Dasrathchand Municipality-2 in Baitadi district, who had been renting a room at Katan, Bhimdatta Municipality-18 in Kanchanpur.
The incident occurred when a woman -- Dharma Bohara (30) of Chatakpur, Dhangadhi Sub Metropolitan City-3, Kailali district -- attacked the deceased with a knife aiming at his neck at around 1:30 am last night, severely injuring him, according to the District Police Office in Kanchanpur.
Injured Bohara was rushed to the Mahakali Zonal Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during the course of treatment, added police.
Dharma Bohara, who had been living with the deceased for the past one month, has been taken into police custody on the charge of murder.
The deceased was a suspended police constable while Dharma is a married woman, police informed.
The cause that prompted Dharma to attack Raju is still unknown and further investigation into the case is underway, according to police.
