Man seeks probe into father’s killing

TANAHU: Pandit Deen Bandhu Pokhrel on Saturday demanded that the government investigate into the murder of his father Pandit Narayan Prasad Pokhrel and take action against the guilty. His father, a highly regarded pandit, was murdered four years back by the Maoists.

Pandit Pokhrel, who arrived to deliver his sermon in Shreemad Nabaha Mahagyan in Panchamunidev Secondary School in Dulegauda, also asked the government to declare his father as a martyr.

“Though my father was a national figure, the government has done nothing so far to take action against the culprits,” he said. He said he had already urged Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal regarding the matter.

“I had also made such demands to the previous governments, however, nobody has paid heed to my repeated demands,” Pokhrel regretted.
