KATHMANDU: A group of people set a man on fire for allegedly smuggling diesel from India, in Sanahi-9 of Nawalparasi district on Wednesday.

According to the District Police Office, Nawalparasi, Sandeep Yadav (18) of Pharsatikar of Rupandehi was critically injured in the attack.

Police suspected that the attackers might be the cadres of agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front.

Police informed that Yadav sustained injuries below his waist.

He is receiving treatment at the Prithvi Chandra Hospital in Parasi, police further informed.

Police said that they have arrested three persons for their alleged involvement in the attack.
