Police recover firearms, explosives, and sharp weapons from the incident site in Jajarkot
KATHMANDU, JANUARY 1
Police in Jajarkot have arrested five people with muzzleloader firearms following the death of a man who was shot during a hunting trip, authorities said on Friday.
According to District Police Office spokesperson Sudhi Kumar Khadka, the incident occurred on December 28 at around 9 am in Barekot Rural Municipality–8. A group of six people had gone hunting when 36-year-old Prachandadev Singh was fatally shot.
During the investigation, police recovered muzzleloader guns and other weapons from a pit near the incident site, leading to the arrest of Indra Bahadur Singh (45), Mim Bahadur Singh (54), Rajiv Shahi (24), Janak Karki (44), and Lal Bahadur Singh (19), all residents of Barekot–8.
Police seized three muzzleloader guns, two iron knives, 135.18 grams of gunpowder, and 21 metal pellets used in such firearms from the suspects.
Further investigation into the incident is underway, police said.
