Maoist action bodes ill for country: UML deputy
MAHENDRANAGAR: Deputy chairman of CPN-UML Ashok Rai today said the UCPN-Maoist action of declaring autonomous republican states would invite anarchy in the country.
Addressing a press meet in Kanchanpur, Rai claimed that the state declaration along ethnic lines would not bode well for the country but would push it into an ethnic conflict. Stating that the statue could be drafted within three months if political parties formed consensus, he said problems had occurred due to the lack of confidence among the parties.
He said the government should change its perception of the Far-Western Region for its development and prosperity. ‘’Efforts should be made to utilise the locally available resources for development,’’ Rai said.
