KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 18
The CPN-Maoist Centre has ruled out any interference in the election of a new leadership in the party's subordinate bodies.
The statement follows criticism doing the rounds within the party about 'failure' to pick a new leadership despite reports that legal procedures including the party election commission was followed to this effect, according to Secretariat of Maoist Centre Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
The respective committees in choosing new leadership is independent as per the party's rules and processes, said Chair Dahal's personal secretary Ramesh Malla.
The party's focus at present is only on its general convention, the party has been abiding by its ideology and policies and is constantly engaging in dialogue to give the party the right ideology and a political direction, he said.
"Some sides whether they know our party system or not have made remarks about the leadership's 'interference'.
This is wrong.
The party will not engage in any such matter in the days to come," he said.
Meanwhile, it has been urged that a name-list of party representatives taking part in the party's provincial conference should be submitted to the party central office by December 20 after completing the remaining work of the provincial conference as per party rules and norms.
