Maoists seize, release six tankers

KAVRE: Maoists on Wednesday grounded six tankers from Dolalghat of Kavrepalanchowk and released them later in the evening. The Maoists claimed that the vehicles bound for Kathmandu from Khasa and China had cheated revenue officials at Tatopani customs office.

The Maoists demanded Rs 100,000 from every vehicle, said transport entrepreneur Ramesh Poudel. The vehicles were released after an agreement between the Maoists and owners.
