JHAPA: Police arrested two persons in possession of marijuana from Gaurigunj Rural Municipality in Jhapa on Tuesday.

The arrested have been identified as Dev Narayan Mahato, 57, and Budha Lal Rajbanshi, 50, of the rural municipality.

According to Gaurigunj Area Police Office, the duo was arrested as per information that they were selling the contraband from their houses. Police seized 500 gram marijuana and Rs 1,350 in cash from Mahato’s house and 2 kg and 25 gram marijuana and Rs 600 in cash from Rajbanshi’s house.

Further investigation into the case is under way, said police.
