Kailali's Attariya bazaar was closed today responding to the call of a struggle committee that is demanding that a university be set up in Geta.
According to Shahid Dashrath Chand National Health and Science University Struggle Committee Secretary Dharmasingh Kunwar, the market closure was carried out as per the struggle committee's pre-scheduled programme to shut the entire Godawari Municipality.
Due to the protest, Attariya bazaar was closed from 8:00am till 6:00pm. There were a few vehicles plying the road. The struggle committee has sought that the government set up Shahid Dashrath Chand National Health Sciences University at Geta as per the council of ministers' earlier decision. The protest started after the government did not allocate budget for the university.
