BHOJPUR: The District Administration Office, Bhojpur has intensified market monitoring in the district headquarters and its adjoining areas as black-marketing of essential commodities has grown in the district due to the protracted Madhes agitation.

A team led by Assistant Chief District Officer Rajan Pandey monitored the district’s major market places, two petrol pumps and more than 20 shops on Friday.

DAO staffers, civil society representatives, journalists, representatives of chambers of commerce and industries, security personnel, among others, were present during the market monitoring. “Strong action will be taken against those found cheating the customers,” said Pandey.
