Market monitoring intensified

With the festival season around the corner, Ramechhap District Administration Office has intensified market monitoring in the various markets of the district.

The local administration has intensified market monitoring with the aim of preventing  shop keepers from cheating consumers.

The team seized date-expired materials during monitoring.

Market monitoring team chief Laxman Bhujel said the team had been inspecting shops, hotels, among others, targeting the big festivals, including Dashain. Bhujel said the team not only inspected food materials such as meat and cold drinks, but also hardware, fancy stores and utensils, among others. The DAO has been inspecting different shops at Manthali bazaar on a daily basis for the past 15 days.

The team carried out inspection in Ramechhap Municipality today.

Chief District Officer Lila Kumari KC Pandey informed that two market monitoring teams inspected shops at the main bazaar area, including Manthali and Ramechhap bazaars today. She said the administration had been working with a Dashain-centred mentality.

She added that the office had also focused on safety and security of the people during the festivals.
