Mastermind behind Udayapur ambush arrested
GAIGHAT, UDYAPUR: The Udayapur District Police Office today arrested the mastermind behind the ambush of the vehicle carrying Nepali Congress Udayapur-2 parliamentary polls candidate Narayan Bahadur Karki, Danuwarbesi of Udayapurgadi Rural Municipality, in Udayapur on Wednesday morning.
The arrested has been identified as Bal Bahadur Magar of Shahikhola in Triyuga Municipality-7.
Police also confiscated the motorcycle used by Magar, Chief District Officer of Udayapur, Nawaraj Bhatta said.
Moreover, police have identified Magar's accomplices and are searching for them in every village and transit points in the district.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has failed to check the recent incidents of a series of bomb blasts which has taken place across the country targeting candidates contesting the provincial and parliamentary elections.
Although the government has not yet officially announced involvement of activists affiliated to Netra Bikram Chand-led Nepal Communist Party in the blasts, most of those arrested are members of the NCP.
