KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 2
A Norwegian explorer has created history by successfully conducting the first ever yoga session on the top of Mt Cholatse this season.
Mathias Squirrelhill practiced yoga at 6,440m on Mt Cholatse on October 31 setting the world record, claimed Pemba Sherpa, Managing Director at Xtreme Climbers Treks & Expeditions.
"This is the world's first highest professional yoga adventure on the summit of Mt Cholatse," Sherpa said, adding that Mathias performed yoga at the summit point for around 30 minutes.
World's Highest Professional Yoga Adventure Expedition was managed by Xtreme Climbers Treks & Expeditions.
Along with the supporting Sherpa climbers Mathias made it to the top of Cholatse and practiced yoga, Sherpa shared. "It was a hatha flow yoga in which Mathias focused on calming his breath."
"After the success of the first highest yoga adventure, this expedition has also created a possibility for the next level of outdoor adventurers around the globe who are seeking for something differently new," Sherpa added.
