Matrika against PLA integration

BANKE: CPN-Maoist leader, Matrika Prasad Yadav, today said it would be unfortunate for the Nepalis if the People's Liberation Army (PLA) integration took place.

Speaking at a press conference organised by the Banke chapter of the Awadhi Journalists' Association, Yadav said, “It would not augur well for the nation if the People's Liberation Army (PLA) is integrated with the Nepali Army.” He instead expressed the need to strengthen the PLA, as the goal of Jana Aandolan had not been accomplished yet.

“The army integration should not take place until people are able to fully enjoy their rights,” he said, adding, “The PLA might have to fight yet another war to establish rights of the people.” Matrika said the drafting of the new constitution was not possible until political parties gave up their petty interests.

Accusing Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “ Prachanda” of being guided by foreign powers, he warned, “ The situation is worsening as the parties are leading the nation towards dictatorship. He said, “The PM is busy meeting leaders, both at home and foreign countries, in a bid to extend his tenure.”

“The PM has failed to keep to his commitments,” he said, adding, “There is growing dissatisfaction among UCPNM cadres as its chairman has digressed from revolutionary ideology.”

“Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha-Goit cadres were involved in the killing of CPN-UML cadre Prachanda Thaiba in Butwal,” he claimed. “Jaya Krishna Goit of JTMM told me that his group had a hand in killing Thaiba,” Matrika said.
