Mayor of Tilottama Municipality, Rupandehi, Basudev Ghimire today announced that he would donate entire salary during his tenure to community schools for the education of the poor and needy students.

Concluding the second municipal assembly at the municipality office today, Ghimire said he would donate his salary for the education of poor and needy students of 44 community schools. He said one student from each school would get scholarship from his salary.

“Students will get scholarship once separate work procedure is prepared,” he added. Ghimire said he decided to donate his salary to help poor students continue their studies. The government of Province 5 provides Rs 35,000 monthly salary to mayors.
