HETAUDA, APRIL 27

Bagmati provincial government has suspended Bisworaj Joshi, vice-chancellor of Madan Bhandari Academy of Health Sciences. The government suspended the vice-chancellor following the decision to split the academy from the hospital today.

Joshi was appointed vice-chancellor by erstwhile province government led by Dormani Poudel. He was frequently pressed to put in his papers prior to his suspension.

A letter signed by Secretary Yamlal Bhusal of the Office of Chief Minister and Council of Ministers states that Joshi was suspended until a three-member probe committee submitted its report to the government.

The former government led by Dormani Poudel had established the medical college by incorporating Hetauda Hospital. Vice-chancellor Joshi said that he was yet to receive the suspension letter.

"I will decide on what I will do once I get the letter."

The probe committee led by Law Secretary Binod Kumar Bhattarai of the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers has health ministry's Secretary Badri Bahadur Khadka and Health Directorate director as members.
