Media panel hears district scribes’ woes
Pokhara, August 1:
Representatives of the High-level Media Commission, which is collecting suggestions from media persons all over the country, arrived in the western town of Pokhara today.
At an interaction organised here by the commission, media persons from the western region said the panel needs to look into problems plaguing the print and electronic media and suggest ways to solve them.
Participants at the interaction programme said the media should be divided into central and regional groups while evaluating, monitoring and classifying them outside the capital city. Media persons were of the view that the local media should be given the opportunity to publish local advertisements.
They further said that the Department of Information should distribute its advertisements in a proportionate manner and that the payment should be made on time.
