A mediaperson has been charged of attempting to rape a 15-year-old girl in Karaiyamai Rural Municipality-5 of Bara district, on Saturday.
According to District Police Office, Bara, the alleged offender, a local, was arrested after he attempted to rape his daughter's friend while no one else was in the house. She had come to visit her friend.
The locals got hold of the suspect after the victim's mother began shouting in response to loud calls from her daughter.
The teenager, who according to the police is in sound health, has been taken to the district hospital for medical examination, shared local level representative Sonalal Shah.
It has been learnt that the locals charged on to the accused, who has sustained injuries, following the incident.
Further investigation into the matter is underway, informed Superintendent of Police (SP) Dipendra Shahi at the District Police Office.
