Kathmandu, August 17:

Dr Sudha Sharma, chairperson of the Nepal Medical Council, the national association of doctors, today assumed leadership of the Professionals’ Alliance for Peace and Democracy (PAPD), to launch anti-autocracy protests. PAPD is a coalition of six organisations — lawyers, engineers, journalists, doctors, professors and teachers — for restoration of democracy.

Sharma said doctors are aware of their responsibility to react when anyone attacks the fundamentals of democracy.
