KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 23

Rotary International Nepal Bhutan District 3292 is organising a mega bicycle rally in Kathmandu Valley on October 25 to raise public awareness about polio eradication on the occasion of World Polio Day.

According to a press release issued by Binita Hada, chairperson of the Polio Plus Sub-Committee, the rally will start from Bhaktapur Durbar Square and end at Patan Durbar Square, passing through Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath and Swayambhunath.

The rally aims to promote the message of ending polio, highlight the importance of vaccination and encourage collective efforts to eradicate the disease. Organisers have also stressed the need to ensure that all children under five receive polio vaccines.

The government provides free polio vaccination to children across the country through its immunisation programme, with female community health volunteers helping reach communities.
