The Meteorological Forecasting Division has said that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorm in some parts of the country as the influence of monsoon wind is prevalent across Nepal.
MFD has also warned that there are chances of soil erosion, landslide, rising water level in the rivers, floods and flashfloods in the hilly areas in the next 24 hours, that could affect normal lives and cause disruption in transportation services
It has urged all to take necessary precautions in view of the increased risk of water-induced disasters.
Presently, weather across the country is generally to fully cloudy while light rainfall is taking place at some parts of Province 1, Bagmati, Gandaki and Sudurpaschim Provinces.
The weather will be generally to completely cloudy throughout the country in the day today with chances of light to moderate rain at many places. There is a possibility of heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at one or two places of Province 1, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces. Very heavy rainfall is also likely at one or two places of Province 1, Bagmati and Sudurpaschim Provinces.
Similarly, the weather will be cloudy at night with chances of light to moderate rain across various districts. Heavy rain along with thunder and lightning has been forecast for one or two places of Province 1, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces.
On Sunday, the weather will be generally to completely cloudy throughout the country with the likelihood of light to moderate rain at many places.
There is a possibility of heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at some places of Province 1, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces.
The weather update section of the Division states that Kathmandu Valley recorded maximum 28.8 degrees Celsius and minimum 20.7 degrees Celsius today.
