RAUTAHAT: Fifty-year-old Shivamangal Raut was found dead in Rautahat’s Basantapati village development committee on Monday evening. Raut’s body was found floating in a canal near his village. The family had launched an intensive search for Raut when he did not show up till late on Sunday after he had gone to the market earlier on the day. The area police office of Pharadawa, Rajpur, informed that the family had found his body floating in the canal. Police inspector Shiva Acharya said that Raut might have been beaten to death since bruises were evidently found all over his body. The body has been handed over to the family after postmortem in Gaur Hospital. The police have informed that they were investigating the incident.
