Minister Bhattarai pledges to build Nijgadh International Airport

Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai today pledged that Nijgadh International Airport would be constructed at any cost.
While making field observation of Tangiya settlement, which is the proposed site for the international airport in Nijgadh, Minister Bhattarai assured that the airport would be constructed. He said residents of Tangiya would be relocated to build the airport. “A team will prepare a report and table it at the Cabinet meeting. Be assured the airport will be constructed,” he said.
Bhattarai said he came to observe Tangiya to take stock of people’s problems and their perception on the airport
project. The team tasked with preparing a report comprised State Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation Dhan Bahadur Budha, Secretary at the ministry Kedar Bahadur Adhikari and lawmaker Rambabu Yadav.
Minister Bhattarai also met with stakeholders of the airport construction project. He also observed Lamidanda and Dakaha of Jitpursimara Sub-Metropolitan City for the relocation of 1,476 families from Tangiya.
Nepal Communist Party Co-chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal and five Cabinet members are scheduled to visit Nijgadh on November 26. They are scheduled to address an interaction programme on fast-track and Nijgadh International Airport to be held by the NCP Province 2 Committee.
