Labour Minister Bista reiterates govt commitment to prosperity
Pokhara, January 10
Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Gokarna Bista has asked people not to doubt the government’s commitment to build a prosperous nation.
Inaugurating the launch of service related to renewal of work permit from Gandaki Province capital Pokhara today, the minister argued the nation’s prosperity would be possible by ensuring full implementation of basic rights, such as the right to education, health, employment, shelter and food enshrined in the statute.
“It’s true that achieving prosperity is a challenge but it’s not impossible; as we are in the preliminary phase of development, it has taken time to develop necessary infrastructure to secure prosperity,” Bista said.
Further, informing about the government’s five-year programme for generating employment, Bista said, “As thousands of youths are flying abroad for employment these days, we need to stop this trend. This is why the government has floated a five-year Prime Minister Employment Programme.”
The minister informed about the government’s plan to launch employment service from all local bodies so people wishing to go abroad for employment could get information from the local level itself.
“From today, no one from Gandaki Province will have to reach Kathmandu to seek renewal of work permit. Such services will soon be launched from Janakpur and Butwal too,” he said.
