Minister inspects TIA on bandh day

Kathmandu, January 26:

Minister of State for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Yankila Sherpa, today conducted surprise inspections of the domestic and international terminals of the Tribhuvan International Airport.

All domestic and international scheduled flights operated smoothly while tourists were found to be satisfied with bus services arranged today from the airport to the concerned destinations and vice versa, the Tou-rism Ministry said in a statement issued later today.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal and the Nepal Tourism Board had made arrangements for shuttle services from the major destinations of the valley, including hotels to the airport.

Forty-seven domestic flights took off from the airport while 52 flights landed at the airport till 3 pm today, said the statement.

Thai Airways, Indian Airlines, Jet Airways, Cosmic Air, Druk Air and the Royal Nepal Airlines Corporation operated their international flights.
