BHAIRAHAWA, NOVEMBER 17
Home Minister Balkrishna Khand has called on dissenting political forces to join mainstream politics.
"I hereby call all of you, dissenting political forces.
Do hand over your arms to the government and join mainstream politics. Let's join hands to develop this country together in a peaceful way," said the NC leader, speaking at a party programme organised in Bhairahawa in his home district today.
"Let's talk. The government is ready to hold talks with all dissenting political groups in order to ensure peace, security and development of our country," he said, adding the talks with the Netra Bikram Chand-led communist party were heading in a positive direction.
On a different note, the home minister said the government was planning to boost the morale of the police by creating additional posts in the police organisation.
"The government is planning to create and implement additional posts such as assistant head constable, senior head constable and senior assistant sub-inspectors by seeking permission from the Public Service Commission," he said.
Commenting on the party's internal matter, the NC leader explained the benefit of electing incumbent party president Sher Bahadur Deuba for another term in the party, saying such a scenario will not only give continuity to the present government but also put the party on the right foot in the upcoming election.
