KATHMANDU: Minister of Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali will be leaving for the United States on Monday morning on an official visit at the invitation of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bharat Raj Paudyal confirmed that the minister was visiting the US, but did not divulge further details, stating an official statement on the visit would be released on Sunday.

Europe America Division Chief Joint Secretary Ghanshyam Bhandari  at the MoFA said some high-level meetings would take place during the bilateral  visit, but he stopped short of disclosing the agenda for the visit.
