Minister Pokhrel advises TU to pay attention on quality education

KATHMANDU: Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Giriraj Mani Pokhrel, has remarked that the Tribhuvan University should pay attention on maintaining the quality of its education system.

Addressing the 58th-anniversary celebration of Ratna Rajya Laxmi Campus (RR) in Kathmandu today, the education minister stressed that the university should ensure delivering quality education to all.

"A fraction of university graduates are unemployed," he said, adding that the time had come for the university to produce not just graduates but to generate skilled manpower in line with the market demands.

He was of the view of developing the university into a research institute.

TU vice-chancellor Prof Dr Tirtha Khaniya while highlighting contributions of the institution said that he was committed to improving the quality of TU education system.

Campus Chief Nirmala Kumari Suwal promised to take all possible measures to establish the college established under the faculty of humanities and social sciences as a 'model' academic institute.

Toppers among the bachelor and master's degree graduates were awarded on the occasion.
