RAJBIRAJ: A five-year-old girl was found dead in a river in Krishnasawaran Rural Municipality-3, of Saptari district on Friday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Laxmi Kumari Sharma, daughter of local Manoj Sharma.

Sharma, who had been missing since Thursday evening was found floating in local Dumjor River this morning after an intensive search, according to the Pakari-based Area Police Office.

Police have assumed that the incident may have occurred accidentally while she was playing.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been kept at the Rajbiraj-based Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital for postmortem.

The investigation into the case is underway, informed the Saptari District Police Office.
