Minor issues delaying unification: Dahal

Process of unifying NCP at all levels will be concluded before April 22

Chitwan, April 10

Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Co-chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal said the party unification process could not be concluded on time due to some pending minor issues.

Speaking at a party training programme in Madi of Chitwan district today, Dahal said though there was no issue in Chitwan, some minor issues regarding unification surfaced in a few other districts that delayed the unification process. “Unification process at all levels will be concluded before April 22, the day the first communist party of Nepal was established, added Dahal.

Meanwhile, instructing his party cadres to help the unification process at the local levels, the former rebel leader pledged to allocate Rs 10 million for the construction of a park in Badarmudhe, a site where an explosion in a bus had killed dozens of people during the decade-long Maoist insurgency.

Dahal also pledged to do the needful to resolve the problem of landless people.

On a different note, the NCP leader, while addressing the meeting at Madi Campus, urged everyone to rise above petty partisan interests and join hands for the development of the country.

“As every political change in Nepal so far has been possible through national consensus, a similar consensus is necessary to start the journey of development and prosperity of the country,” the ruling party leader observed.

Dahal also stressed the need of education and retention of educated manpower in the country in order to ensure development and prosperity.
