Dang, October 30:

Irate locals at Luham and adjoining areas, after a road accident at Bhuntakhola in Salyan, are staging a road blockade since yesterday.

A team including CDO Krishna Shyam Budhathoki, DSP Rober Bahadur Basnet reached the spot today and talks are on to thrash out the issue, said the DAO (Salyan).

Locals are demanding adequate compensation to the kin of those killed and free treatment of the injured, among others.

Meanwhile, an 18-mo-nth-old baby girl who was injured in Saturday’s mishap is at the Kohalpur Teaching Hospital, Banke, under the supervision of CWIN with nobody having come to tend to her.

CWIN coordinator of Salyan, Surya Bahadur Bohara, said the girl was admitted to hospital at the behest of CWIN. Her guardians are still not traceable. “She is being treated under the supervision of the CWIN,” Bohara quoted programme officer of the CWIN helpline, Nepalgunj, Kabiram Magar as saying.
