Pyuthan, January 26:
Thirty widows who lost their husbands in a tragic bus mishap at Garjeni of Pyuthan six days ago have decided not to wear the traditional white dress mandatory for the widows as per the Hindu tradition. They have agreed to dress up in red, or just like any other married woman do, saying they do not need to cast off the colourful dresses to grieve the deaths, said Bishna Gautam, a local social worker. They are also preparing to perform the rituals of the dead husbands themselves. Meanwhile, a transport halt has been scheduled for February 2 throughout the district.
