MAHENDRANAGAR: A driver at the Darchula based under-construction Chameliya Hydro Electricity Project, was found dead in Sittad-2, near Chameliya bazaar in Baitadi district, last Saturday.

Body of Sindu Khadayat (31), a resident of Shikhar-1, Driver Khadayat's body was recovered naked and with bruises all over, Baitadi District Police Office said.

Khadayat had gone missing from Rudreshwor-3 of Baitadi since July 23, according to his relatives. Some persons had stopped the jeep he was driving and taken him under their control in Rudreshwor on July 23, the police quoted locals as saying.

After relatives filed a complaint, police arrested seven persons: Raju Bohara, Bikram Bohara, Dipak Bohara, Birendra Luhar, Pante Luhar, Manoj Luhar and Keshav Luhar on the charge of their involvement in the killing.

Khadayat's body was taken to Baitadi District Hospital for autopsy today. The police said investigation into the incident was underway.
