Missing Rukum boy comes back to family after four years
RUKUM: A teenage boy of Rukum district, who had gone missing from Gorakhpur of India four years back, was rescued by police and handed over to the family.
Govinda Pariyar (now 15) of Kholagaun-8 had disappeared from the Indian city as he had been there with his parents. The boy was rescued with the help of the Indian Police around nine years ago.
Though the Indian Police had found the boy nine months ago and handed him to the Nepal Police, he was under the protection of an orphanage in Rupandehi as making his reunion with the family got delayed since the boy did not exactly know his hometown.
The orphanage with the help of the District Child Welfare Board later took the child to his hometown and handed him to his youngest uncle Hira Bahadur Sarki, Board Child rights Officer Manbir Oli said.
His parents are said to be in Gorakhpur.
