Missing youth’s whereabouts unknown for nine months

Rajbiraj, April 18

The whereabouts of Ramesh Yadav, who has been missing for the last nine months, is yet to be known.

Yadav, 20, is a resident of Bisahariya VDC in Saptari. He had left for the district headquarters in his motorcycle citing some work in Rajbiraj on July 7, 2015.

He is yet to return home. Police found Yadav’s motorcycle at Mohanpur on the Nepal-India border three months after he went missing.

Yadav’s father visits the district administration office and district police office almost everyday to ask for his son’s whereabouts, but in vain.

“The police say search for my son is under way, but I see no result,” he said. He also demanded to know about his son’s condition. “The police don’t seem interested in searching for my son as they have got nothing yet,” he complained. He urged mediapersons to help find Ramesh.

Similarly, a 15-year-old boy of Manaraja VDC, Saptari, has not returned home for 20 days. Alok Jha, son of local Krishna Chandra Jha, left the house on March 29 after a row with his father over his studies.

According to Krishna Chandra, Alok is an eighth grader at Rajbiraj-based Durga Boarding School. He had returned home after his final examinations on March 28.

Krishna Chandra said he had counselled his son to continue his studies with diligence. “But he left the house early in the morning the next day while the family members were asleep,” he said.

Krishna Chandra had filed an application requesting to search for his son at Area Police Office, Kalyanpur.
